# Insights

> Search jobs and track CI time and job minutes.

## Before you start

Run jobs on Peak.
As a Member, choose Connect GitHub if asked.
Expect Insights only for repositories you can access on GitHub.

## Check the overview

Open [Insights](https://app.peak.inc/runs/insights).
Choose Last 24 hours, Last 7 days, or Last 30 days.
Compare Runs, Runs failed, Run duration p50, Jobs, and Job minutes with the previous period.
Check the Workflows, Jobs, and Runners tables to find where time goes.

## Search jobs

Open Insights → Runs.
Choose Runs or Jobs under Show.
Search with terms like these.

Use these keys.

| Key | Values |
| - | - |
| repo | owner/name |
| workflow | Workflow name |
| job | Job name |
| branch | Branch name |
| status | passed, failed, cancelled, skipped, running |
| runner | Runner label |
| commit | Commit SHA or its start |
| attempt | Attempt number |
| duration | Job time, such as >5m |
| queue | Queue time, such as >30s |

Put a minus before a term to exclude it.
Repeat a key to match any of its values.
Compare duration and queue with these operators.

## Check job minutes

Open Insights → Usage.
Check Job minutes, Jobs, and GitHub-hosted equivalent.
Check Minutes by runner and Most minutes to find your largest jobs.
Check Flaky jobs for jobs that passed and failed on the same commit.

## Compare with your current CI

Read the [shadow report](https://docs.peak.inc/shadow-mode.md#read-the-shadow-report) for repositories in shadow mode.

Ask your Peak contact to turn these on for your workspace.
